Deaths perception design ideas:
- stylistic images of dead animals designed in the same way as a nice house painting (miller & carter décor) and put them in situ.
- the meat-eating industry, switching out animals for humans, g.instead of pig’s ears as a snack, human ears in a bag. Artist Zhu Yu eating people
- celebrating death Mayan culture, illustrate the act of sacrifice and its celebration g.the way Mayans would kill someone by; drugging them into a euphoric state, adorning them in heavy jewellery, then kicking their head until they crack, then throwing them into a cenote.
- Animals that eat their own species
Artis information:
Joseph Gerges:the art of making death beautiful. He created lithographs and detailed etchings of beautful animals but after death, or only parts, as you can see here in this piece it is the hanging carcass of an animal. “investigations of the emotions and events that define our lives and commingle bitter and sweet moments that demand our compassion and propel us forward as human beings.” – Joseph Gerges
Kyle Cooper:His title scenes for movies and tv like se7en, American Horror Story, and The Walking Dead have always inspired me in my work. The shock he receives from his intro scenes is something I would like to achieve in my work about dead perception and sensitive cultures.
Zhu Yu:With his performance art about cannibalism being investigated by the FBI and even being on a documentary about china has made is work prolific in shock factor. I think this type of work could be considered extreme to the usual person, but to me and to other creative minds, I feel as though this work is very interesting and the reasons to why are even more interesting.
https://www.widewalls.ch/shock-art-21-century:/:This article contains interesting information about weather shock art is still as shocking today. The aesthetics of shock became possibly the only quality of the art practice. In our times the more obscure, disturbing and offensive art is, the bigger chances are it will be praised for its originality.

Websites with interesting info about vegetarians/ vegan diets being compared to a meat eater diet:
Table comparing overall health between meat eaters and vegetariens:
this table was very interesting to me as I feel the general consensus is that not eating meat is better for you. when in fact in the long wrong or in terms of our health, eating meat is better for us. however this is up for debate of course.
‘Indigenous cuisines offer clues about what humans, naturally omnivorous, need to survive, reproduce and grow: traditional vegetarian diets, as in India, invariably include dairy and eggs for complete protein, essential fats and vitamins. There are no vegan societies for a simple reason: a vegan diet is not adequate in the long run.’
Has Veganism/vegetarian been around long enough to have someone who has born and died a vegan/Vegetarian , and my question would be, what would the average life span be of this person?
Movie reference:
Wolf Creek, making gore and things you don’t want to see like mutilated bodies into a movie about a serial killer in Australia who kills for fun, also making the psychopathic killer almost likeable through his personality.
A Serbian Film, is a film about a struggling porn star who gets persuaded to participate in an ‘art film’ which turns out to get a lot of attention for its graphic depictions of rape, necrophilia and child sexual abuse.
This is one of the reviews describing how mentally scaring:
I wanted got include this in my research to show how far films can go in the desire to shock and disgust us, the fact that this film got invested by the Serbian state for crime against sexual morals and crime related to the protection of minors is good research for my idea of shock factor in art, and good research into what can mess up mental health in a way. Although this movie is probably the most extreme form of shock factor in art, and I may not go in this direction as it is mentally scaring I did want to use it as research.
MOVING FORWARD REFINING IDEA, Look into hypocrisy art:
after my second talk with my tutor he narrowed down my ideas into focusing on hypocrisy art, and refining this down rather than expanding my ideas more. As art is about refining and perfecting. I need to get more ideas about hypocrisy and why I want to do this. So there for I want to take more photos of being being a hypocrite in the idea of the meat industry as a meat eater. And making comments on veganism without being one myself. As hypocrisy is about making the viewer think a thought that you have made them question, and hypocrisy is the best way to evoke this in the viewer.
Book: Aesthetic Democracy, by Thomas Docherty, 2006, Stanford University, Chapter 7, The Ethics of Hypocrisy
lying engages the viewer to think about ethical stability, catching their attention because they believe it is wrong. art forces us to think a thought. it is only hypocrisy that makes anything possible at all. lying is only possible because we are all intently truth tellers, liars must tell the truth of their lies wouldn’t be notable to critical, they would not work.
weather it is for or against the thought you are made to think by looking at art, means that it is valid, because it has made us think a thought.
Carnage film by Simon Amstell, based in 2067 after the UK goes vegan
Photos that represent hypocrisy for a basis of my work:
I want to be present within my work, it gives it a sense of personality that if I am present in my own images then I give people a person to be annoyed at who happens to be the artist. I feel that getting photos of me doing controversial and hypocritical things like carrying more meat than I can carry, eating raw meat and comparing it to fruit and veg, personifying veg, and rubbing blood on my face to represent the makeup industry and killing animals.
Discussion on the idea that all meat eaters are hypocrites:
there are a lot of articles floating around the internet asking the question if all meat eaters are hypocrites, or weather meat eaters can support animals rights. My belief is that if you eat meat and don’t think you could kill it them yourself, then you are less of a hypocrite but if your a meat eater who can’t think about killing animals you are more of a hypocrite. however I do believe that being self aware is progress in animal rights and moving forward. As meat eater are not ignorant, we do know what we are eating and are aware of what happens in order to eat meat, but we are just less sensitive to the idea of killing.
as my work is about how eating meat is bad for you and Veganism shock factor, the fact I am in the work as a meat eater is very hypocritical and is a contradiction between my morals and my actions within the art.

Oliviero toscani, controversial campaigns.
He shows images on new born babies which is natural however it wasn’t taken Kindly by the public because it was something they thought should be censored. Images of a loving lesbian relationship, which in 1991, lesbians would be overly sexualised so them being in a loving relationship with a baby is out of place. an image of a dead person covered in a sheet, and images of hearts to compare different races.
His work is contradictory to what is classed as acceptable at the time.

Premonition (framed) by Luc Tuymans:
I am really inspired by Luc Tuymans work as it is an amazing example of a four colour separation, as I had no idea that it was until I was told. I also want to use the idea of the hand drawn area within my work, an have a full coloured background or part coloured background. The bottom right circle is also apparently got 10 layers of gloss on it which gives it a glass like look which would be an amazing way of highlighting my main points.
Augus Vasili:
I am inspired by his use of space and going outside the lines, and the way he layers colour and images.
Emilio Villalba:
I also love the compositions of Emilio’s work, its is spread out and layers, repetitive and random all at the same time. His work really inspires me to layer my work and also to think about how I could spread out my work.
